Chess Games Online

I don’t recall my fist interactions with computers, but it likely took place back in the 80’s. I remember using the Tandy 1000 that you could type on them and nothing else. Computers have certainly come along way since then. While in high school, I took up playing online chess. I remember my first game well, as the computer beat me on the first move! This was a bit intimidating. I made it a challenge to beat the computer at the game. After playing over and over again, I finally accomplished the goal I had set. These days I still enjoy playing chess online now and then.

Chess isn’t an easy game to master, especially if your opponent uses the "knight 2 to bishop 7."  I was enjoying a movie last week called “Cry Wolf”. I was impressed with the chess game reference made. The movie is about a girl and her buddies who are trying to spread rumors on the college campus about a murder. She becomes aggravated because she doesn’t feel here friends are on her level. She told them, " It's like you all are playing checkers and I'm playing chess." That is a one liner that should go in the history books.

I agree that chess is much more mature and detailed than the game of checkers, or most other board games. The game of chess comes down to having an effective strategy. You need to think carefully before you make a move. If you are new to the game, then you will find playing online difficult. It is also a great place to learn the skills you need to know. The internet has beginner websites and tutorials. You can also purchase low cost software to help you learn the game. Once you have mastered this, tackle an online opponent. I hope you are able to move at least twice before your king is handed to you!
