Super Nintendo ControllerEverybody has played with a video game at least once in their life. You have an opportunity to be a fighter, or a race car driver or anything that you want to be. It gives you a great chance to unwind and relax. Now days the technology that is put into gamming is just amazing. But where did it all begin?

It was the early 1990s when the Super Nintendo Entertainment System was released, it was simply mind blowing. The initial Nintendo Entertainment System that was out was in itself an astonishing and revolutionary, but the SNES just blew away the competition.  The SNES had been released a bit late as compared to Sega Genesis and the Turbo Grafix 16 in the video game consoles market, but it was all worth it. I own all of the third generation consoles, and among them I like the SNES the best. I can say this because among the 3 the SNES is the only one I still play with.

The Super Nintendo controller was the best part of the console. It too was in some aspect way ahead of its competition. The Super Nintendo controllers had double the number of buttons on the face also had twin shoulder buttons as compared to the previous NES controller.  If you compare the current generations of video game consoles to the Super Nintendo controller then it will be clear that the Super Nintendo controller was where it all began.

The Super Nintendo controller created new options for the SNES games that were not feasible earlier.  The Street Fighter II was one game that the controller strongly affected.  This game was perhaps one of the most popular SNES games and almost certainly among the most popular console games ever and it wouldn’t be the same on a controller with a different set up.  The arrangement of the controller was so vital to the game play and also the fact is that all the buttons were absolutely essential. In response to the popularity of the Super Nintendo controller, Sega released their own wannabe version of the controller for their Genesis, but it was a bit too late and it also lacked the shoulder buttons, and it was a bit difficult to play with.

When you compare the modern day controllers to the SNES controller, you will find that there is not much difference. The difference being the newer grips, which allows for the trigger buttons and the shoulder buttons, but when it comes to the face of the controllers look, there are almost no changes from the original Super Nintendo controllers. Some controllers even have the same color scheme like that of the old SNES controller for example the Microsoft’s Xbox controller.  That makes total sense to me, means why change a winning combination. The Super Nintendo controller has already proven its worth and will always be remembered as the beginning of the next generation.

And if you ask me the SNES controller will continue to have an affect on all of the controllers that are going to be designed in the future. This controller will be always remembered as long as video games will be used, and that will be for a long time.
