Poker Party ChipsThe Guys Guide To Poker Parties (And How To Keep Your Woman Happy)!!!

Are you male and aged between 18 and 24? If you are, then the likelihood is that you have attended a poker party in the recent past. It is one of the latest trends to hit the college scene, but has also made an impact beyond that. Every male worth their salt plays poker, regardless of what their wives or girlfriends think. The typical poker party is men only and women, regardless of their playing prowess, have generally been excluded. This causes problems. The lack of women at poker parties is a sexist and generally unfair rule… if they know how to play that is, and has caused resentment by the bucketful. The appeal to young guys is that there seems to be something very macho about the appeal of poker. Poker parties give them a chance to be a winner, to hold their nerve. Above all, it feeds their competitive nature and allows them to gamble when they are completely in control of whether they win or lose. It has caused broken relationships, but has no need to in the future if you follow my advice:

A poker party should either include or exclude women completely. If they are allowed to be in the room, they should participate. If not, then it should be men only period. Plus, after a poker party, when all of the males in attendance have drank way too much, smoked way too much, ate way too much and had enough of spending the night in a testosterone filled pit, then they should have a shower and head to bed, rather than pestering their partner for whatever attention they then desire. If women are not allowed in the game, then you should not be allowed to have your wicked way or be waited on hand and foot afterwards. Be sensible and leave it until the morning!

Never ever brag to your woman that you won x amount of dollars at the poker party. It gets very tiring, very quickly and you are far more likely to be kick out of bed than praised. If you do insist on digging yourself a hole, expect the consequences for a few days. Instead, try buying her flowers or a gift and mention that you won. She will appreciate it much more, and maybe even give you the praise you think you deserve. Do not, under any circumstances, rub it in her face.

By the same token, if you lose at the poker party women do not want to hear about it non-stop. This is especially true if you lost a large sum of money. Sympathy will not be on the menu, but a lifetime ban from poker parties may! It is not something women forget if you have gambled away a month’s wages or cannot afford to take her to the restaurant she requested. There is simply no way to make up for it, so do not even try.

Somebody once said “we all need to realize that some games are best left to the boys”. In my opinion, as a humble woman, that is extremely sexist and not true at all. However, if you do want to participate in men only poker parties, then expect the consequences. The key is knowing your woman inside out and tailoring your behaviour on that particular night and the days after to her personality. That way you will not go far wrong!
